STREAMING AUDIO TO HELP PICK A WINNING DESTINATION
Easy Listening
easyJet and Spotify are using people’s listening habits to influence their holiday destination recommendations.
Details
The ‘Listen & Book’ campaign analyzes Spotify users’ playlists, takes inspiration from the style of music they’re into and offers participants tailored travel destinations.
As well as the vacation spots, listeners are also shown nearby music venues to connect them to local music gigs.
Quotable
“This creative collaboration shows what’s possible with streaming audio. Listeners engage with Spotify to experience inspiration and discovery, and our focus on personalization enables brands to cultivate meaningful interactive connections with their audiences,” said Richard Frankel, global creative director at Spotify.
The only thing people love as much as travel is music. This tech uses one to help the other. What songs best represent your destination?
FISH WHERE THE FISH ARE, FOR REAL
The Right Bait
New York State will enhance fishing-related tourism by making it easier for new and experienced anglers with a new ‘Tackle Box’ feature of its HuntFishNY App.
Details
Tackle Box allows users to search for waterbodies by name or by panning and zooming. Highlighted waters are clickable, providing information on special fishing regulations, fish stocking, and boating/fishing access.
Bonus
In addition, the new “navigate” feature gives users driving directions to the boating access site of their choice. The Tackle Box also includes an offline feature that allows anglers to use it when cell service is not available.
The launch includes a welcome video with Steve Hurst, chief of the Bureau of Fisheries for the Department of Environmental Conservation.
