Brand USA + Disney Launch International Campaign

BrandUSA has collaborated with Disney to launch ‘Generations of Magic.’

The two organizations will work together for a new United Stories marketing campaign – a platform that started in 2019 and highlights national landmarks and smaller destinations alike. For reference, global visitors make up 20% of total visitation at Disney’s U.S. parks.

The video is part of a full suite of content which will be used in both owned and paid digital channels as part of the campaign and will be produced in nine languages: English, Spanish – LATAM and Castilian, French, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, and German.

The video features a grandfather writing a letter to his granddaughter in an “Adventure Book,” from the film “Up,” recounting memories of their trip together.

Did I cry? Of course I cried. I want this exact experience for my son with his granddad – and I already live in Florida!

Quotable. “We pride ourselves on telling the stories of America – I don’t think you can really tell the stories of America to the world without including stories about Disney,” said Thomas Garzilli, Brand USA’s chief marketing officer.

Of the 11 United Stories destination marketing campaigns produced by Brand USA this year, Disney World is the only business and the only location that is not a city, state or region. Other destinations advertised in 2022 include San Antonio, Texas; California and Nevada; and the Pacific Northwest.

Not every DMO will have the budget of Brand USA or Disney, but their ability to incorporate the storytelling process is something we can all learn from.
